Frequently Asked Question - Placement of your thermostat
Placement of your thermostat

Typically when homes are built they place the thermostat as close as possible to the return air duct in order to get the best average temperature of your home. Be careful not to block the area around your return air duct or thermostat as you can prevent the thermostat from sensing the temperature properly. Also, don't place lamps, TV's or any other sources of heat near your thermostat. This can cause your thermostat to register the heat from those appliances and cost you hundreds in wasted air conditioning.
